A not-to-be-missed winter meeting place: starting December 21, 2018, for a little over a month, the Eiffel Tower is setting up its first-floor terrace as a space for relaxation and fun.

During the year-end holidays, the Eiffel Tower’s first floor winter terrace welcomes you with a “ski station” ambiance! Under a sheltered dome of over 431 ft2 (40 m2), between December 21, 2018 and January 7, 2019, young and old can experience virtual reality with a theme of winter sports.

Virtual animations with intense thrills

There are two Xtreme VR™ machines awaiting (adult) visitors to the Eiffel Tower. Using a virtual reality headset and a dynamic platform coupled with a fan, players will be able to experiment with, and experience as if they were there, highly thrilling activities like downhill ski or BMX runs, ski jumps, and wingsuit flights in the mountains (there is a choice of about 15 simulations, lasting an average of 2 minutes). A screen is also placed next to the players so that the public can enjoy the show.

While parents rock and hit the slopes, children can enjoy the Kid Karting animation, which offers small inflatable carts for wild races on a large screen.

Starting on January 7, 2019, after the school holidays, the dome will be transformed into a warm relaxation space amid a backdrop of pine trees!

Real gondola lifts and real cookies

Télécabines de le terrasse d'hiver

Outside the dome, throughout the entire Winter Terrace period (December 21, 2018 to January 27, 2019), we invite you to eat and take a break in one of our genuine gondola lifts transformed into private mini-spaces, or on a chairlift!

As to food, winter goes hand in hand with treats, and you will be seduced by the rich chocolate aromas coming from the bar transformed to cookie factory for the event. Baked on site, cookies will be available in many flavors (apple tart Tatin, lemon meringue, gingerbread…) A real delight, accompanied by tea or hot chocolate! From 7th January, the Cookie factory is open during week-ends only.

The 2018 Winter Terrace at a glance:
- Open for all visitors to the Eiffel Tower, First Floor, from December 21, 2018 to January 27, 2019.
