The Eiffel Tower’s access paths are getting a makeover!

Thursday 13 February 2020

Modified the 27/02/20

Work began in early 2020 to resurface the walkways leading to the Eiffel Tower’s entry points.

Work on the walkways adjacent to the Tower -  Paulhan path and Refuzniks’ path - began in January and will be completed in spring 2020. A new surface that is better adapted to the daily influx of visitors and residents will cover the ground and make these areas more pleasant for all.

Several trees near the paths will also benefit from these improvements. Special care will be given to preserving their roots and the topsoil will be enriched, extending their life span by 10 to 15 years!

We are also reorganizing the lines to the entrances to make them both better structured and more beautiful, thus improving our visitor’s experience. A system that adapts the lines to the number of visitors to the monument at that moment will be set up.

These works will effect visitor access* to the monument's entrances while they are in progress.

Until 13 February, 2020: Entrance 1 (south) in  Refuzniks’ path will be closed. Only entrance 2 (east) will be accessible from Paulhan path.

From 14 February to 8 March 2020: All entrances (1 and 2) will remain open during school holidays. Refuzniks’ path (entrance 1 - south) will be partially open from Quai Branly. However, we advise you to use entrance 2 (east).

From 9 to 13 March 2020: entrance 1 (south) in Refuzniks’ path will be closed. Only entrance 2 (east) will be accessible from Paulhan path.

From 13 March to 9 April 2020: Entrance 2 (east) in Paulhan path will be closed. Only entrance 1 (south) will be accessible from Refuzniks’ path.

From 10 to 26 April 2020: All entrances will remain open during school holidays. Paulhan path (entrance 2 - east) will remain partially open. However, we advise you to use entrance 1 (south).

From 27 to 30 April 2020: Entrance 2 (east) in Paulhan path will be closed. Only entrance 1 (south) will be accessible from Refuzniks’ path.

Friday, 1st May 2020: Reopening of path and entrance 2 (east) to the public.

*The Eiffel Tower site is accessible via 2 entrances in the paths that run adjacent to it: entrance 1 is located in Refuzniks’ path, near the Tower’s south pillar and entrance 2 is located in Paulhan path, near the Tower’s east pillar.
